The US Ski Association has submitted an official wildcard request to the International Ski & Snowboard Federation for her to compete in two Super-G races in St. Moritz, Switzerland.
They are scheduled for December 21st and 22nd.
It follows her announcement that she is coming out of retirement at the age of 40 and 5-years after she ended her racing career.
Ahead of St Moritz she plans to race in some events in North America overt the next few weeks.
Vonn should earn a competitive standing to rejoin speed racing.
She currently holds 104 FIS points in downhill and 93 in super-G.
She needs to reduce her FIS points below 80 per discipline.
She is hoping to be a forerunner at the World Cup races in Beaver Creek on December 14th and 15th which will be a test of her readiness for top-level racing.
