One Dead and Three Injured in US Avalanche

The tragedy happened at Pallisades Tahoe in California.

People are being urged to exercise caution after recent snow.

The avalanche, triggered by recent snowfall and unstable snowpack conditions, buried several skiers in its path.

Emergency responders, including ski patrol and local authorities, carried out a comprehensive search and rescue operation.

The accident happened in the GS gully area, to the skier’s right of the KT-22 chairlift.

It is a “black diamond” run for advanced skiers and snowboarders.

A man sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead by Tahoe Forest Hospital.

Three other skiers sustained non-life threatening injuries, and were released after treatment.

An investigation is underway.
