No matter how big you are thinking of going with gifts this winter, we have some inspiration here for you.
Most of the things are those we, here at PlanetSKI, would quite like – this is the best kind of gifting, no?
And others are things we’d recommend.
So, from ski socks to ski trips, check out what you could gift below.
We have Stocking Fillers… Skiing & Snowboarding Experiences… Snowsports Gear…
Let’s start with the classic:
STOCKING FILLERS…
Fun. Loud. Useful.
Christmas (ski) socks!
Weather protection cream for the ski face.
Something to help with wind burn, extreme cold, the dry mountain air or your everyday faceplant…
A great stocking filler for those conscious of what the hard elements can do to our soft skin.
You know those ones that keep lifting their heel and bending their knees as they glide effortlessly down the slopes.
One of our very good friends, the ski instructor Joe Beer, has published a fabuolous book on the discipline.
It also includes tips and hint s for alpine skiers – Joe teaches both.
It’s full of tips, drills and skills for anyone wanting to improve their skills.
“Most manuals will tell you how to do things, this book gives you lots on how it should feel, along with some bio mechanical facts but no long scientific babble,” said Joe.
Joe has been instructing for more than 30 years and is passionate about teaching and making a difference in people’s progress.
He has skied and taught skiing and telemark all over the world; from early years in Andorra, to seasons in NZ.
He now works in the Portes du Soleil in France.
You may also know him by his alter ego Joe the Strummer; guitar and singer.
We think this next one is the perfect gift, for any skier or boarder at any level:
Buy someone a private ski lesson.
Maison Sport is perhaps where to start.
It’s a platform for independent ski instructors where you can personally choose your ski guy or board gal for whenever, wherever you like.
An hour, each day in Chamonix perhaps?
Get online, check out the profiles of the freelance ski instructors that work out of your destinaiton resort, and wrap up a photo of your instructor to-be as a joke on Christmas day…
SNOWSPORTS GEAR…
We’ve gone on about this next one below enough for you to know that we think these are the bees knees:
Down inner trousers for underneath your waterproof ski pants.
Decathlon’s own brand Wed’ze introduces this winter warmer for those who get cold tooshies on the ski slopes.
For both men and women – plus you can seem like a big-spender whilst only putting down £34.99
Bamboo ski poles.
Novel.
Naturally strong – x2 more so than traditional aluminium poles.
And they flex, even better when it comes to quick impacts…
It’s sustainable, and is the fastest growing renewable resource on the planet.
AND they look awesome:
Salomon Driver Snowsports Helmet.
A helmet and goggle in one – new this season – an ultimate new piece of gear.
Really popular among those who wear glasses.
Costs £210 at Ellis Brigham.
Pining for this CUB snowboard puffa jacket from WEARCOLOUR

Do you have a family member or friend who moans CONSTANTLY about their ski boots?
Why not book them in for a ski boot fitting session at Ellis Brigham Mountain Sports.
They’ll look at the foot shape and biomechanics, then shape and mould the boots for the best fit using the SUREfit system.
Costs around £70.
Or have you a little one waiting for their first pair of ski boots?
Check out the Wed’ze kids ski boot from Decathlon.
Here’s a secret – it’ll last you longer than the one Christmas…
