Hell Yeah! The Ikon Pass covers many fabulous resorts in the USA and Canada and so with a single pass you can ski dozens of resorts. PlanetSKI reports from experience on the possibilities and what road trips are all about.
Many skiers and snowboarders are thinking that it might be the time to do a bucket-list ski trip.
Well, it doesn’t get much better than a road trip in the USA or Canada, and maybe both.
“I have covered thousands upon thousands of miles in North America on road trips. Hitting the big resorts we have all heard of and dozens more that were completely unknown to me as my wheels rolled into town,” said the PlanetSKI editor, James Cove.
“If you even have the slightest wish to do one then my advice is simple.
“What are you waiting for? Now is the time.”
If a road trip interests you then now is the time to act.
So, how do you do it?
Simple.
Buy an Ikon Pass that gives you the ability to ski in many resorts across the USA and Canada and then speak to the UK North America specialists, Ski Independence and Ski Safari, to put the packages together.
See here for the full details on the Ikon Pass.
A quick look at which resorts are on the Ikon Pass shows that the opportunities are virtually endless.
The multi-resort pass is on sale for just a few more weeks and has gone off sale in early December in previous seasons.
All these resorts on a single lift pass.
The Ikon Pass also allows you to ski in Dolomiti Superski in Italy, Kitzbühel in the Tirol in Austria and Zermatt in Switzerland.
The Ikon Pass has come up with five selected routes in North America, but you can do more resorts or less.
Here are the five suggested routes and we have dropped in links from some of PlanetSKI’s numerous road trips passing through some of the resorts mentioned.
Do click on them to get the feel of what a road trip can be like – the ultimate ski adventure.
See below for a flavour of what they can be about:
1. Rocky Mountain Classics
And road trips can be about a different type of horse power.
And on all road trips you definitely need to take a train too:
2.Mountain West Magnificence
In our Utah road trips we have skied Deer Valley, Brighton, Solitude, Snowbird and Alta that are on the Ikon Pass.
And we won’t forget Jackson Hole in Wyoming in a hurry.
3. California Dreaming
4. Eastern Exploring
We are disappointed to say we have never skied any of these resorts in Eastern USA and Canada – yet.
Watch this space…
5. Western Canada Big Adventure
And lets not forget dropping into Revelstoke and Red in Canada that are also on the Ikon Pass.
We skied the resorts during a motorhome trip in British Columbia:
Then there was one road trip around the little-know resorts in Idaho, including Schweitzer Mountain that is on the Ikon Pass.
And we have skied Lake Louise, Sunshine Village and Mt Norquay – all on Canadian road trips:
So, what are you waiting for?
The ski trip of a lifetime awaits…
