Crystal Ski Holidays Heads to Japan

The UK’s largest ski operator has unveiled Japan as a new destination, with holidays this winter to the resort of Niseko from December 10th to April 2nd.

Niseko has 51km of pistes and has a seasonal average of 15m of snow.

The resort caters for all levels and offers the chance to relax at the end of the day in a traditional Japanese hot spring, known as an onsen.

Mountain-goers will be swapping cheese fondues for traditional Japanese favourites, like gyoza and ramen, alongside fusion and international cuisine.

There’s also the opportunity to sample the locally produced sake, Hokkaido wines and specially brewed beers.

Crystal Ski Holidays features more than 100 resorts across Europe and North America and recently added Bosnia and Herzegovina to its portfolio for this winter.

“Japan offers a unique and unforgettable skiing experience,” said Crystal Ski’s managing director, Chris Logan.

“Whether it’s knee-deep powder, beautiful bluebird days, a different culture or distinctive cuisine you’re after, you’re bound to make once-in-a-lifetime memories on a ski holiday to Japan.

“We’re so excited to be offering Japan as a new long-haul destination this winter, following our recent launch of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a new, budget-friendly destination for something closer to home.”

Flights are available from Heathrow, departing on Saturdays and Wednesdays.

Covid-19 travel restrictions to Japan have been lifted.

Skiers & snowboarders can now visit Japan without a visa and the cap on daily arrivals has also been lifted.

Visitors to Japan will need to show their triple vaccination or submit a negative Covid test result to enter.

Now, here at PlanetSKI we have a confession to make.

We have never skied in Japan.

We have skied over 600 resorts across the globe, but sadly never in Japan.

Though we have been there in the summer and went to some of the ski areas:

One day soon we will be putting the omission right…
