GB Snowboarder Mia Brookes Wins Again

The 17-year-old gave another brilliant display of Big Air snowboarding to win the Klagenfurt World Cup in Austria on Sunday.  That’s two in row for the teenager. NEW

Mia Brookes sealed her second Big Air win of the season in her first outing of 2025, matching her performance at the Beijing Big Air World Cup in December.

Along with her World Cup slopestyle silver in New Zealand in September, that’s 3 podiums already this season.

She now has 2 World Cup victories and 7 World Cup podiums, as well as being the reigning Slopestyle World Champion.

In Klagenfurt, Brookes played safe in the qualifying round to go into the finals as the fifth best scorer.

With the two best jumps of three to count in the final, she was third after jump number one.

She then produced two stunning jumps to secure the victory.

Her final jump – a Cab 1440 Melon – earned a huge 95.75 points, the highest scoring run across two days of competition.

Brookes’ overall score of 184.25 pushed 18-year-old Mari Fukada of Japan down into the silver medal position (182.25). Momo Suzuki (166.75), also from Japan, was third.

“I’m so hyped to win this competition,” Brookes said.

“It doesn’t even feel real to know I’ve just gone back-to-back. It’s crazy!”

Brookes told the BBC’s Ski Sunday that her aim is to win gold for GB in Snowboard Slopestyle at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Olympics.

She is clearly a force to be reckoned with in the Big Air discipline too.

At PlanetSKI we could hardly be more excited to see what else this youngster can do this season.

She will have another chance of a Big Air podium later this week, at the World Cup in Kreischberg, Austria.

She’s one of a large contingent of British skiers and snowboarders competing over the next week.
