Ed Sheeran hits the Slopes

His latest video is shot in Hintertux in Austria. There’s plenty of love, plenty of snow & it could give a much needed boost to skiing.

It’s cheesy, cheesy, cheesy!

Ed meets a girl, played by actress Zoey Deutch, and love on the slopes and in the snow follows.

There are snow angels, serenading in chalets, night skiing with flares, slow dancing in the snow and ski shots.

They arrrive by train (very environmentally friendly).

Oh, and there’s a kitten.

And some cuddles.

And here it is:

In a matter of hours after its release on Thursday it had over 2.5 million views on You Tube, and it was cross promoted on Twitter and Facebook. (Update – by 10pm GMT it had over 4+ million views)

It was shot in Hintertux in the Tirol in Austria and it is hoped by many in the snowsports industry, both in the Tirol and beyond, that it will give a much needed boost to skiing and snowboarding.

And in case you are wondering Hintertux is currently open for skiing and just had a huge dump of snow – up to 1m.

“We are glad that Ed Sheeran has chosen the Hintertux Glacier in Tirol as the location for his new music video. It shows a perfect winter experience and we hope that it will inspire many people for their skiing holidays this winter,” said Angela Semrajc from Tirol Tourism to PlanetSKI.

Here at PlanetSKI it reminds us of Wham’s ‘Last Christmas’ back in 1986.
