SKI/BOOT ROOM OF THE YEAR

It’s the Awards Season at the moment with many taking place. PlanetSKI has decided to hand out its own alternative & occasional awards.

Hardly a day goes by without another Awards Ceremony.

In the past week or so there has been the British Travel Awards in London and the World Ski Awards in Kitzbuhel, Austria.

We have counted five other recent ones in the ski world, pronouncing on such original and inspiring categories as the best resort, best hotel, best family ski operator and every other category you can think of.

But we don’t think there is an award for the best ski/boot room in the Alps.

Well, there is now and PlanetSKI has awarded it to (drumroll)……..the Farenheit 7 hotel in Val Thorens.

We’ve just been in the resort for its Opening Weekend:

And here’s where you come out.

Right on to the piste.

What a ski/boot room.

We have decided to get in on the awards act and feel we should start handing out a few PlanetSKI awards this winter.

They will be totally unscientific, with no specific categories and certainly no voting, panel of experts or online polls.

They will be ones based just on our whims as we meander around the mountains and pick whatever we fancy.

We wonder what the next one will be… we’re on the lookout for the best loo, best lift, best bartender, best cocktail, best green run, best DJ , best bowl of mountain soup/salad/rosti/pasta and a few others besides…
