Next weekend on  23rd October Les2Alpes in the Isere region opens for the half-term holidays until November 7th.

Also on the 16th the resort of Stubai in the Tirol in Austria opened up its park for freestylers.

Some slopes were opened last weekend.

Many high altitude areas in the Alps saw some snow last week and it has been continuing this week in places.

It has been snowing again in the Alps, this time mostly in the east, with 10-30cm falling in the last 24 hours in the northern and eastern Swiss Alps, and parts of Austria,” said the alpine weather expert Fraser Wilkin from weathertoski.co.uk.

Some of the best snow is to be found on the Austrian glaciers as we reported earlier:

In the USA a couple of resorts in Colorado opened last weekend – Wolf Creek on Saturday and Arapahoe Basin on Sunday.

Other resorts in the state have their snow guns on.
