Direct Ski Flight to Salt Lake City Re-introduced for Next Winter

PlanetSKI understands Delta Airlines will be running the service five days per week giving access to a host of resorts in Utah.  It should give significant boost to the ski areas and open up the resorts to UK skiers and snowboarders.

The details have not been formally announced but we understand it will run from Heathrow to Salt Lake City non-stop.

Delta introduced the flight a few years ago but there were doubts about whether it would return after Covid-19.

If it had not then getting to resorts such as Park City, Deer Valley, Alta, Snowbird and others would have involved a change.

Not something many people like after a transatlantic flight.

“It is fabulous news for the town of Park City and all the other Utah ski resorts,” said a spokesman from Park City Chamber of Commerce to PlanetSKI.

We were last in Park City in January 2020 ahead of the pandemic, and it remains one of our favourite ski towns in the USA.

Here’s why:

We are already considering a visit to Utah next winter and the news of the direct flight can only make a trip more likely.
