Single Lift Pass for All Resorts in Andorra

The resorts of Pal and Arinsal are to be incorporated into the Grandvalira lift pass which covers all the other main ski areas in Andorra.

Pal and Arinsal are currently in the Valnord pass that also includes Arcalis.

Arcalis was incorporated into the Grandvalira pass in 2018.

“This alliance will unify Andorra’s winter snow and mountain leisure activities 365 days a year, bring together a total of 303 km slopes for winter sports and make Grandvalira one of Europe’s top destinations for the skiable area available,” said the area in a statement.

Further details on pricing will be announced later this summer.

The news has been welcomed, but with some reservations.

“The all Andorra ski pass makes a lot of sense for our clients who have the benefit of a hire car,” said Duncan Gilroy from the UK operator, Absolutely Snow, that specialises in ski holidays to Andorra and other parts of the Pyrenees.

“We are just a little concerned that it might be an excuse to raise ski pass prices.

“Most clients that book Pas de la Casa or Soldeu will really only ski in the Grandvalira. Similarly those the book Arinsal for its excellent Ski school will only Ski in Vallnord.”

PlanetSKI was last in Andorra a few years back.

It punches above its weight in our opinion.
