Travelski Express Confirms Xmas Timetable

Xmas falls on a Sunday with New Year’s Eve on a Saturday. So the timings of the service have altered.

The service normally goes out on a Saturday with a day journey and people then return on an overnight train a week later.

Departures have been altered to Friday 23rd December (return 31/12) and Friday 30th December (return 07/01).

Travelski Express says that British skiers will have ample time to get to their chosen resort and settled in before the Christmas and/or New Year celebrations begin.

“Christmas and New Year are always popular weeks for British skiers,” said the CEO of Travelski, Guillaume de Marcillac.

“With the amended schedule they now have plenty of time to settle in before the fun starts, and plenty of time to ski after, especially over new year where we have included an extra day at no extra cost.

“We have an excellent choice of accommodation at higher altitude too, which can be important in these earlier weeks”.

People over the New Year week will benefit from an 8-day lift pass at no extra cost.

To facilitate this, the journey out on the 23rd will be overnight (return during the day), although the 30th December reverts to the new format of daytime outbound and nightime returns.

We reported on the plans for next winter in this earlier article on PlanetSKI:

Skiers can choose from ten resorts, increased from seven last season.

These are Les Arcs, La Plagne, Les Menuires, Val d’Isere, Tignes, Meribel, Brides les Bains, Val Thorens, Courchevel and La Rosiere.

Packages include return direct Eurostar from London, accommodation, local area lift pass and transfers to/from accommodation.

The first train is due to depart on 17th December 2022, with the final return on the 15th April 2023.

The train will now run outbound from London on Saturday morning, arriving in the heart of the Tarentaise (Moutiers and Bourg St Maurice) on Saturday afternoon.

A refining of the included transfers means that skiers will now be taken from the train station to their accommodation, or as close as is possible under local access laws, in time to get checked in and their kit sorted for the following day.

The return train will leave on Saturday evening, allowing guests a full day of skiing on Saturday. The return will arrive into London St Pancras early on Sunday morning (07.16).
