Skiing in Australia

The first snow is falling with resorts firing up their snow cannons. Winter Down Under is fast approaching. Check out the latest. UPDATED

It has been a cold start to winter in Australia.

Australia’s capital city Canberra has recorded its coldest May day in 23 years.

A cold front has come from the south sweeping in icy air from Antarctica.

All Australian ski resorts in Victoria and New South Wales are scheduled to open for the King’s Long Weekend on June 10th.

With the early season snow some are looking to open slopes earlier.

Perisher and Thredbo in New South Wales have seen some snowfall.

In the state of Victoria Falls Creek has been testing its snow guns ahead of the coming ski season.

There has been plenty of natural snow too.

Some natural flakes have been falling elsewhere in Victoria too.

Here at PlanetSKI we’ll be following developments Down Under.

We were last skiing in Australia a few years back.
