The top podium spots for GB Snowsport athletes came in Telemark and Para Alpine races. It’s a great start to the season for Britain’s most successful skier, Jasmin Taylor, and for Neil Simpson with his guide, Rob Poth.
Jaz Taylor triumphed in the Telemark Sprint World Cup in Pinzolo, Italy.
It was the opening sprint race of the World Cup season.
Leading from the first run, Taylor finished in a time of 2:36.26 to take gold ahead of Augustine Carliez in second and Camille Bourbon in third.

“It’s a different feel coming into this season after last year, it’s a new challenge for me,” Taylor said after her victory in Pinzolo.
“I’m really pleased with my first race and hope to hold onto my form!”
Taylor is back in action on Saturday 21st December for the second race of the Pinzolo World Cup double header.
At the Para Alpine Giant Slalom World Cup in Courchevel, France, Neil Simpson and Rob Poth won gold in the Men’s Visually Impaired classification at the second of this week’s GS races.

The pair’s time of 1:45.11 was enough to secure top spot ahead of Johannes Aigner of Austria and Giacomo Bertagnolli of Italy in second and third places respectively, by a margin of 0.13s.

GB Snowsport says the result marks a superb return to snow for Simpson who was off snow for the majority of last season and provides an early springboard towards qualification for the Milan-Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games.
