23 year old British Skier Dies in Cliff Fall After Apres

His body was found at the foot of a cliff in the French resort of Avoriaz. An investigation is underway. NEW
It is reported that he went to the Folie Douce apres ski bar and then skied back to the resort alone.
When he did not return to his accommodation his friends raised the alarm.
Rescue teams conducted an extensive search of the area before locating the man’s body the following day.
The body was removed by helicopter and transported to Chamonix, where he was identified by next-of-kin.
Local prosecutors and judicial police have launched an inquiry to determine the cause of death and the exact sequence of events.
A UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office spokesman said: “We are supporting the family of a British man who died in France and are in contact with the local authorities.”
