Snowsport England has a new partnership with Snowcentres Limited that it claims marks a significant step forward in the development of snowsports in the UK.
The partnership will see Snowcentres Limited, the owner-operators of The Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead and the Chill Factore in Manchester become the headline sponsor of the Snowsport England Talent Pathway.
Snowsport England, the national governing body, will become a recommended provider and supplier of instructor and coaching courses/education at both Chill Factore and The Snow Centre.
This collaboration will enhance opportunities for athletes, aspiring instructors and established coaches in the snowsports community.
These pathways lead to internationally-recognised IVSI qualifications.
It allows the holder to operate internationally within a club or group under certain conditions, opening opportunities for instructors and coaches.
These courses are designed to cater specifically to the needs of an English-based snowsports instructor.

They provide flexibility for individuals looking to develop a snowsports career, whether it’s part-time or full-time.
With a significantly lower financial commitment compared to other schemes, these courses do not require people to travel abroad until Level 3 and above.
They allow the licence holder to instruct to the same level as other schemes, but they are qualifications designed for a closed environment of dryslope and indoor snow centres.
As instructors and coaches progress through the scheme, the qualifications and courses progress into the alpine environment abroad.

Snowcentres Limited will become a headline sponsor for the Snowsport England Talent Pathway, supporting both the main and development squads with access to training facilities.
Securing funding for athlete development is a constant strain on British athletes.
This partnership is one step closer to providing more assistance to our young, promising athletes by ensuring affordable access to on-snow training in the UK.
“We’re excited to embark on this innovative partnership, which represents a huge step forward in strengthening snowsports in the UK,” said the Group Head of Snowsports at Snowcentres Limited, Pete Gillespie.
“Together, we are creating a unique opportunity for both instructors and athletes, making it easier to achieve internationally-recognised qualifications and access top-tier training.”

“This partnership is a first of its kind for Snowsport England, and it’s a major milestone in establishing a genuine talent pathway for alpine athletes,” said the CEO of Snowsport England, James Arnold.
“We are drawing the coaching and talent pathways closer together.
“It is vital that even a junior instructor operates with the same fundamentals as an elite coach, so athletes have that consistency.
“We are excited to see this partnership come to life and to take a further step forward in our ambition to create funded talent pathways for Snowsport England athletes.”
