Mt Dobson Ski Field in New Zealand is up for sale. Mt Dobson is known for its sunny, expansive basin, uncrowded slopes, and family-friendly atmosphere.

The ski area, known by locals as Dobo, opened in 1979.

The current family owners have run the independent resort for the last 45 years and are now retiring.

The area is a well-established and profitable alpine business.

It is said to have a  loyal customer base, consistent profits and strong growth potential.

Dobo is 212 km south of Christchurch on the main tourist route to Queenstown.

The ski area is located near Tekapo, in the southern Te Kahui Kaupeka Conservation Park.

It has four lifts:

  • Triple chair lift
  • T-bar
  • Platter lift
  • Ski tow

There are 14 runs over an area of 860 acres.

Other features include a natural half pipe and groomed main trails.

It has modern grooming equipment and the base facilities are well-equipped.

Its car park is the highest in New Zealand.

There is no accommodation at the resort and most visitors stay in nearby Fairlie.

And the price?

No figure has been revealed, and is by negotiation.
