Val d’Isere has a month-long summer season with skiing on offer on its Pisaillas glacier for four weeks from Saturday June 7th to Sunday July 6th if conditions allow.
Skiing is possible on three runs between 3,300m and 2,725m, with another four runs reserved for race team training.
“We’ve had some fresh snow up there today and into tonight too,” said PlanetSKI reader Steve Angus from Val d’Isere as the resort opened.

Summer skiing on the glacier has been taking place since the late 1960s.
