246 New Lifts to Open Next Winter

There are more new lifts opening next season across Europe and North America than ever before. Some times just a single lift in a resort, others whole new ski areas. Check out the details in this video.

This season marks the largest ski lift infrastructure investment in recent memory with 246 new installations opening across the northern hemisphere.

The total spend is reported to be around half a billion dollars.

We post a video below from Snow Stash that looks at the 35 most impressive upgrades, including:

North America:

  • Deer Valley’s unprecedented seven-lift expansion that’s creating an entirely new base area
  • Big Sky’s game-changing Explorer Gondola completing their massive resort transformation.
  • Castle Mountain in Alberta, Canada opening its Haig Ridge terrain

Europe:

  • The world’s first Tri-Line gondola in Switzerland
  • The rebuild of Chamonix’s Les Grands Montets.
  • Les 3 Vallées is installing three separate 10-person gondolas

Some of the lifts are replacing infrastructure that’s been running for over 50 years, whilst others are bringing cutting-edge technology that didn’t exist five years ago.

“Whether you’re interested in the technical details of Austria’s glacier access improvements, the operational genius behind Italy’s Olympic preparations for 2026, or simply want to know which mountains just became significantly more accessible, this comprehensive guide covers the installations that will reshape how we access terrain for decades to come,” said Snow Stash.

With over half a billion dollars invested in new infrastructure this season, there’s never been a better time to start planning ski trips to mountains you’ve never experienced before.
