Two Podiums for GB Snowsport Athletes

Kirsty Muir has secured the third World Cup victory of her career at the Aspen Freeski Slopestyle World Cup. Zoe Atkin followed it up with a silver in the Freeski Halfpipe in Aspen. UPDATED

Kirsty Muir qualified for Finals in first place, then the 21-year-old Scot held top spot from the first run of the Finals competition.

The rest of the field was unable to overhaul her score of 80.62, as Canadians Megan Oldham and Elena Gaskell took second a third spot with scores of 73.02 and 72.90 respectively.

Muir’s winning run featured a well put together sequence including her right-side double cork 1080, left-side 720, and closed out with a front-side 630 out.

The result marks a seventh career World Cup podium and third victory for Muir, as well as a second podium of the 2025/26 season, following a gold medal winning performance at the Secret Garden.

“I’m just very stoked, stoked with how I’m skiing,” said Kirsty.

“Conditions were slightly tough today, so we just managed to get through it.

“I’m just really enjoying myself, enjoying how I’m skiing at the moment – so everything’s really good.”

 “Kirsty has faced her fair share of adversity this winner,” said  GB Snowsport Freeski Head Coach, Jamie Mathew.

“From winning her first Big Air in December to then breaking her thumb the week after, today’s win shows her strength of character to continually show up and give it her best.

“I couldn’t be happier for her today, wins are always hard fought, so it’s amazing she’s walked away with something to show for the continued hard work and dedication.”

Zoe Atkin followed with a second British World Cup podium of the weekend, taking second place in a tightly contested Aspen Freeski Halfpipe World Cup.
The reigning Halfpipe World Champion topped the standings in qualification, but was forced to settle for silver as she finished finals 0.25 points behind China’s Fanghui Li.
The result gives Atkin her third World Cup podium after :
  • A season-opening silver in Secret Garden
  • A gold medal winning showing at the Copper Mountain World Cup in December,
It matches the World Cup medal tally the 22-year-old secured last season on her way to a share of the 2025 Crystal Globe.

“I’m feeling super confident, really excited to get back to training and work on a couple of new things in preparation for the Games.

“Zoe is really helping push women’s pipe skiing to the next level right now,” said the GB Snowsport head coach, Pat Sharples.
“Her amplitude, clean and solid grabs, and the technicality of her run is becoming more and more consistent, and it’s so good to see all her hard work paying off.
“These are really exciting times for Zoe, for us as a team, and for the whole of the sport.”
