Hirscher Receives ‘Wild Card’ For Next Season

One of the greatest skiers ever, Marcel Hirscher, will be competing in the men’s alpine skiing World Cup this season. NEW
Hischer’s starting position will be bib number 31, which means he will start right after the top athletes.
The Austrian, who now competes for his mother’s home country of the Netherlands, is aiming for another comeback after a nearly two-year injury layoff.
The eight-time World Cup overall champion made a comeback in 2024 after changing nationalities.
He has been training in Argentina.

He has won two Olympic golds, in combined and giant slalom at the 2018 Pyeongchang Games, plus a silver in slalom at the 2014 Sochi Games.
The eight-time overall World Cup skiing champion first retired from racing in 2019 but later announced that he would begin competing again.
After three races, he tore his cruciate ligament during training and missed both that season and the following Olympic winter.
