Peak Performance Unveils 40th Anniversary Collection

Forty years on, Peak Performance has launched a limited-edition ski capsule reinventing its icons for the modern mountain.
The anniversary collection ushers in the next era for the brand while paying tribute to its past.
“Anchored in archival design but engineered with its most advanced technologies to date,” said Peak Performance as the collection was launched.
At the center is the pinnacle piece: the 40Y R&D GORE-TEX® Jacket and Pants – a direct evolution of the original R&D set first introduced in 1993.

That design brought something new to alpine skiing: a modular 3-in-1 system that provided skiers flexible integrated insulation and a parka-style silhouette at odds with the tight-fit fashions that dominated 80s/90s skiwear.
Four decades on, the principle remains unchanged.
The 40Y R&D kit is built around a custom-developed 3-layer GORE-TEX® C-KNIT™ Stretch shell.

“Softer, quieter and more mobile than its predecessor, the shell delivers full windproof and waterproof protection while allowing unrestricted movement on the mountain,” said Peak Performance.
Thermal performance is driven by insulation technologies.
Replacing the original fleece liner, Polartec® Alpha™ active insulation delivers lightweight, highly breathable warmth that adapts to changing levels of exertion.
It is designed to release excess body heat and moisture before they can build up, it helps maintain a more consistent microclimate during movement.
Whether pushing hard on a descent or standing still on a lift, it provides reliable thermal comfort without the need to constantly add or remove layers.

Complementing this is Solarcore® insulation, an aerogel technology developed by NASA that retains its insulating properties, even under compression.
Applied to targeted zones – including the phone pocket, knees and seat – it enhances thermal performance exactly where it is needed, without introducing unnecessary bulk or restricting movement.

- RECCO® Safety Technology – Integrated reflector supporting faster location by rescue teams
- Responsible Materials – Liner made from 100% GRS-certified recycled polyamide; liner pant using bluesign®-approved recycled polyester
- Colourways – Available in three colourways: Ice Peak/Island Blue, Alpine/Racing Red and Black.
