Bear Dog Eating Competition in Jackson Hole

The Battle of the Bears Bear Dog Eating Competition returns to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort on 15th March 2026.

Competitors test their appetite and speed at the Bear Flats Snack Shack at the base of the Sublette chairlift.

Participants aged 18 and over have 12 minutes to devour as many “Bear Dogs” (bovine and swine sausages) as possible.

But what exactly are Bear Dogs, you might ask? Think of them as the quintessential ski hill snack: a bovine & swine sausage within a warm, toasted bun.

It’s the kind of comfort food that fuels both body and soul during a day on the slopes.

There’s bragging rights and a free pair of skis on the line for both the male and female winners.
