The Austrian ski resort in SalzburgerLand will once again host the spectacular event in early 2026.
From 10 to 24 January, more than 50 teams from different countries will take part in the traditional International Hot Air Balloon Weeks.
It’s one of the world’s oldest and largest balloon festivals.
It begins with the Night of Balloons on Saturday 10 January.
The children’s and family programme opens at 4pm in the village square. From 6pm the ballons will be assembled and then launched from the Hammerwiese, the Filzmoos Balloon Airfield. The evening will include music and fireworks.
The 17th Hanneshof Balloon Trophy – Austria’s largest balloon meeting – is from 10-17 January.
The 47th International Balloon Week – Austria’s oldest balloon meeting – is from 17-24 January.
As well as the competition , the public will also be able to experience balloon flights, with two-hour flights available from €298 per person. There are also ‘balloon & ski’ packages.
