Injury Blow for GB Olympic Medal Hope

The freestyle skier Izzy Atkin has withdrawn from the Big Air competition at Beijing 2022. She won a bronze medal at the Pyeongchang 2018 Games.

The 23-year-old skier broke her pelvis at the Dew Tour in Colorado, USA, last December.

We reported on it at the time on PlanetSKI and raised doubts about her Olympic participation.

She still aims to compete in Beijing in the slopestyle – the event in which she won Olympic bronze at the PyeongChang 2018 Games.

She is working hard on her rehabilitation and an announcement is expected as the medical team monitor her progress.
