Burton Snowboards Orders Still Disrupted After Cyber Attack

The company reported a ‘cyber incident’ on 14th February and shut down all its e-commerce activities. A week later its online sales are still suspended while investigations continue.

“We are working closely with third-party specialists to investigate the incident and determine the full nature and scope,” said the company in a statement.

“We are also making every effort to get our operations back up and running, but unfortunately are not able to process orders at this time.”

It is not accepting any orders and is asking people to go to shops to purchase products.

The company was founded in 1977 by Jake Burton Carpenter and is perhaps the best-known snowboard brand.

It has its HQ in Burlington, Vermont.

The incident began on February 14th when it said ‘we are currently experiencing a system outage die to a recent cyber incident and are unable to process online orders at this time.”

According to Burton’s privacy policy, its website uses 100% PCI compliant, meaning that “at no point during the order process or post order process are credit card details or bank account numbers saved or held by Burton.com.”
