Cody Bramwell has taken top spot in the most prestigious event in the Freeride calendar, but misses out on the overall FWT title. UPDATED
Bramwell took first place in Verbier but he missed out on the overall FWT crown which was won by the French rider, Victor de Le Rue.
Victor de Le Rue had enough points from across the other events to take the overall title, with Bramwell in second place overall.
For the Frenchman it was a record-breaking fourth overall title.
But the day belonged to Cody Bramwell who delivered a near-flawless run to claim victory at the YETI Xtreme Verbier by Honda.
Attacking the steep upper section of the Bec des Rosses, he launched a huge backflip, stomping the landing despite the challenging snow conditions.
A 360 and a second backflip near the finish sealed the deal, earning him a massive 92.67 score—his second win of the season and enough to propel him to second place in the overall rankings.

“Winning the Xtreme Verbier is a dream come true,” said Cody.
“It’s such a legendary competition that it still doesn’t feel real.
“I had almost counted myself out, thinking about next year, but somehow I finished second overall.
“I’m still pinching myself.”

Bramwell finished 3rd overall in both 2021 and 2022.
He was given a wildcard to compete this season but he failed to score highly in the first three of five competitions – in Spain, France and Canada.
But he turned it around with victory in Georgia, closely followed by a second place in Fieberbrunn in Austria and now victory in Verbier.

The 2025 YETI Xtreme Verbier by Honda delivered a thrilling finale, with Cody Bramwell (snowboard men), Weitien Ho (ski men), Jenna Keller (ski women), and Noémie Equy (snowboard women) taking victory.
Victor de Le Rue (snowboard men), Marcus Goguen (ski men), Justine Dufour-Lapointe (ski women), and Noémie Equy (snowbaord women) were crowned 2025 Freeride World Tour Champions.
“I am incredibly happy to make history with this title,” said Victor de Le Rue.
“It was a goal from the start of the season, but the competition was tough, and conditions were challenging.
“It all came down to the final run, and I am grateful for how everything played out.”
With the win Victor de Le Rue ties Marion Haerty’s all-time record and surpasses his brother Xavier de Le Rue’s three-title mark.
The Verbier Xtreme takes place each year on the Bec des Rosses, that is synonymous with extreme freeriding.
At 3,223 metres, with a 600m vertical drop and 50-degree slopes, it is the steepest, most complex terrain on the FWT circuit.

Riders navigate a labyrinth of tight couloirs, exposed ridges and massive cliffs, choosing lines that balance technical precision and progressive freestyle elements.
The YETI Xtreme Verbier by Honda marks the highly anticipated conclusion of the FIS Freeride World Tour by Peak Performance.
This year’s edition is the 30th in the history of Xtreme Verbier.
It started out as a snowboard-only contest in 1996 before welcoming male skiers in 2004 and female skiers in 2006.
In 2008 it evolved into the official Freeride World Tour Finals.
PlanetSKI followed the event in its early days and our editor James Cove was a media judge at the event in Tignes in 2009.
