The Olympic champion has undergone surgery after she dislocated her shoulder while surfing on an artificial wave. The Austrian snowboarder has had to cancel her on snow summer training in Australia.
It will impact her preparations for the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.
She is the 2018 and 2022 Olympic Champion in Big Air and competes in slopestyle.
The 33-year-old two-time Big Air gold medallist suffered a labral tear and a biceps tendon in the accident in Munich and received treatment last week.
“The examinations showed that the shoulder was briefly dislocated,” Gasler said in a statement.
“The labrum and biceps tendon were affected.
“The surgery restored the necessary stability in the shoulder.
“Even though it isn’t easy for me, I will have to be patient for now.
After that, I will concentrate on training and compete in selected World Cup competitions so that I can travel to the Olympic Games in Italy optimally prepared.”
