Milan-Cortina Olympic Medals Unveiled

The IOC says the medals have been designed “not only to celebrate the elegance of Italian layout, but also to capture the spirit of sport itself – its passion, collective struggle, and the universal pursuit of victory.”

The medals feature a decoration of two interlocking halves, emblematising the culmination of the athletes’ journey and the presence of those who stood by them.

Raffaella Paniè, director of brand, identity and look of the Games, said the concept aims to “celebrate the strength found in difference” and communicate “a bold and unified message.”
