Body of Missing British Hiker Found

33-year old Matthew Hall went missing last week, Tuesday July 9th,  in the Italian Alps. NEW

His body was found near the spot where he sent final text messages to friends saying he was lost.

In a final text sent to a friend at 13.37 BST on the day of his disappearance, Mr Hall wrote that he had taken ‘a wrong turn’ on a trail.

Rescue teams found his body and used a helicopter to recover the body.

Italian police says his next-of- kin have been informed.

His friends had flown out to Italy to assist in search efforts along with his mother Sara Foster.

Mr Hall, from Hull, had been staying in a bed and breakfast at Valchiavenna near Sondrio when he went missing.

He was set to fly back to the UK from Milan to Manchester last Saturday.
