Two Norwegian Ski Jumpers Accept Ban for Suit Tampering
24th August 2025
Marius Lindvik and Johann André Forfang are “willing to accept” a 3-month ban according to the International Ski & Snowboard Federation, FIS. NEW
The manipulation was to increase the size of suits that were pre-approved and microchipped by FIS.
The alterations could be found only by tearing apart the seams of the crotch area on the ski suits.
The Norwegian Ski Federation admitted after the competition that the team had manipulated the suits, but said the ski jumpers were not at fault.
FIS said Lindvik and Forfang, who were provisionally suspended in March, “were not charged with actual knowledge of the manipulations,” but that they “should have checked and asked questions about the night-time adjustments.”
The length of the sanction means both men may compete in the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics next February.
Lindvik will be hoping to defend his Olympic large hill title.
Forfang took gold in the large hill team event and normal hill individual silver at the 2018 Olympics.
