Sale Dates for Winter Trains to French Alps & Pyrenees

The two key dates this year are 30th September and 12th November.

The tables below show the date that tickets go on sale for each kind of train.

*TGV INOUI trains are the ordinary high-speed TGV trains that run throughout France.

*TGV Lyria trains are the high-speed TGV trains that run between France and Switzerland.

*OUIGO trains are the no-frills, cheapo version of a TGV. They have much less legroom, no café-bar, no Wi-Fi, and you have to pay a charge for each item of luggage. They run on a limited number of routes in France.

*Intercités trains are non-high-speed (but still fast) trains that run in France, including the SNCF’s sleeper service, Intercités de Nuit.

What time do the above trains go on sale?

In recent years, SNCF has refused to give an exact time. But the likely time is 06:00 French time, i.e., 05:00 UK time.
