Riku Banushi is accused of seriously injuring a skier in Aspen in February 2024.

He made a virtual appearance in Pitkin County Court where he rejected the accusations.

The crash left the victim, Aspen resident Anne Cassidy, with serious injuries including tears to her right knee’s ACL and MCL.

Banushi is charged with a hit-and-run violation under the Colorado Ski Safety Act — a petty offense — and reckless endangerment, a class 2 misdemeanor.

Banushi has yet to enter a plea.

Three scheduled arraignment hearings, including this week, were postponed because he had not retained a lawyer.

Banushi is a defendant in a separate civil case.
