The first stage of the new Grand Montets lift opens this coming season.

The lift has been closed since a fire destroyed the mid-station in 2018.

In December 2026 the first section of the new 10-seater gondola between Argentière and the Lognan plateau (1,972 m) opens.

A beginners’ area has been created at the top.

Both stations are designed by architect Renzo Piano.

Built by Doppelmayr, the gondola will be complemented in December 2027 by a 3S cable car, which will restore access to the summit of the Grands Montets, at 3,275m.
