Snow Camp In Andorra

50 young people from Snow Camp charity’s London and North West programmes are experiencing the mountains for the very first time. More join from Scotland and the Midlands next week.
The young people from deprived inner city areas are in Andorra in the Pyreneess – a milestone in their Snow Camp journey.
They are putting their skills into practice as they work towards their BASI Instructor Foundation Award.
Since 2003, Snow Camp has been harnessing the power of skiing & snowboarding to break down barriers, broaden horizons and address the biggest social issues facing underserved young people today.
It’s goal is to turn young lives around through the power of snowsports combined with engaging opportunities, positive relationships and life-changing progression.
PlanetSKI has been supporting Snow Camp since we started in 2008.
“This week is all about building confidence, forming new friendships, and proving what’s possible when young people are given the opportunity to shine,” said Snow Camp Programme Director, Matt Conway.
“We’re beyond proud of how far these young people have come – and we can’t wait to share more of what they’re getting up to while out there.”

“We’re beyond proud of each and every one of them – and so grateful to everyone who makes this journey possible,” added the Snow Camp Community & Events Director, Dan Keeley.
The Excel Programme is the third stage in the young people’s progression through Snow Camp.
The group is based in the resort of Arinsal.
Over several months, young people work towards their BASI Instructor Foundation Award, gaining invaluable technical skills, leadership experience, and employability training.
This week in Andorra is the culmination of all that hard work.
It’s a chance to put everything they’ve learned into practice in a real mountain environment, supported by dedicated programme teams and well-being managers.
It’s also where confidence is solidified, new friendships are strengthened, and the dream of a future in the snowsports industry becomes that much more real.
“We’re beyond proud of how far these young people have come – and we can’t wait to share more of what they’re getting up to while out there,” added the two Dans.
