PlanetSKI Turns Into PlanetHIKE (Again)
16th June 2026 | James Cove, South West Coastal Path.
Hiking is one of our preferred pastimes in the summer months. Up in the mountains, on coastal paths, along hills and elsewhere. NEW
In Sweden last week we were hiking with a four-time winner of the Freeride World Tour, Henrik Windstedt.

Henrik is a Peak Performance sponsored athlete and was part of the team giving a small group of selected writers an exclusive preview of Peak Performance’s 40th Anniversary Ski Collection that will be released in the autumn.

More of that later.
Interestingly hiking clothing is the fastest growing clothing sector within Peak Performance as more and more people head to the outdoors in the summer.

In the winter months we are getting increasingly interested in ski touring.
Hiking is about as similar as it gets as one plods uphill placing a boot forward, instead of sliding a ski, and letting time simply slip away.

Before we head off for some summer hiking in the Alps and the Rockies we’re back on the South Downs Way later this month, with two more legs of the 100-mile route to go:
- Buriton to Exton (12.5 miles)
- Exton to Winchester (12 miles)
