Memorial Day was the end of winter for the few US resorts still skiing. Just a handful left open in North America enjoying the remaining snow.

Rock debris covers glaciers across the world

The amount is larger than previously thought.

That’s according to a study run by Britain’s Northumbria University and the Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research.

FIS has sent technical staff to venues due to host World Cup ski and snowboard events next winter.

They include trips to Italy, Poland, Slovenia, Slovakia, Austria and Switzerland.
