GB RACERS TO COMPETE AT JUNIOR WORLD SKI CHAMPIONSHIPS

Six promising alpine skiers have been selected for the GB Squad at the FIS Alpine Junior World Ski Championships that get under way in Norway this week.

YOUNG GB SKIERS AT WORLD NORDIC CHAMPIONSHIPS

A team of 6 will represent GB Snowsport at the FIS Nordic Junior & under-23 Cross-Country World Ski Championships which start later this week.

RETIRED SKI CHAMPION SVINDAL TO RACE AGAIN

Aksel Lund Svindal will be going a bit slower than usual.  He’s not returning to downhill or super G action. He’s taking part in a gruelling cross-country ski race. 

GB WORLD CUP WINNING SKIER ROWAN CHESHIRE RETIRES

The freestyle skier, Winter Olympian and former junior World Championships medallist is retiring from competition for health reasons. She is just 24. Her former team mates pay tribute.

KATIE ORMEROD CLOSE TO MAKING GB SPORTING HISTORY

The snowboarder has been on the World Cup podium in four successive events and is leading the slopestyle standings with one competition to go.

GUS KENWORTHY TAKES GOLD FOR GB

The former US skier who now competes for Team GB is on top of the podium. Gus Kenworthy has won gold at the FIS freestyle Halfpipe World Cup in Calgary, Canada.

The 22-year old French racer, Clement Noel, has won the Kandahar World Cup slalom race in Chamonix. Cue wild celebrations, but there was disappointment for Dave Ryding. PlanetSKI was in the finish area.

Registration for World Snow Day Opens Today

The 12th edition of World Snow Day will take place on the 15th January 2023.

The World Snow Day Awards will also be handed out.

The events aims to get more young people into snowsports.

Sunshine Village Re-opens for Canada Day

The lifts will start again from June 28th to July 3rd and will be open on Wednesday 1st July – Canada Day.

The resort hasn’t opened at this time of year for over three decades.
