Zoe Atkin finished second at the Calgary Freeski Halfpipe World Cup and in doing so secured a share of the Crystal Globe title. It comes as GB snowboarder Charlotte Bankes wins again. UPDATED

It’s another big week of action for GB Snowsports skiers and snowboarders, including the spectacular Schladming Night Slalom on Wednesday and the return of freestyle skier Kirsty Muir to World Cup action after a long injury lay-off.

There’s a big programme of sporting action for GB skiers and snowboarders over the next 7 days, including two men’s slalom World Cups and the X Games in Aspen, Colorado. We have the full calendar and all the recent results.

Eight male and six female athletes have been selected across six Alpine disciplines. It is the largest British Team selected for an Alpine World Championships in recent history.

The first World Cup competitions of 2025 have taken place and there’s already been a victory for GB. But there’s much more action for GB skiers and snowboarders coming up over the next week. 

The 17-year-old gave another brilliant display of Big Air snowboarding to win the Klagenfurt World Cup in Austria on Sunday.  That’s two in row for the teenager.

Zoe Atkin in the Freeski Halfpipe and Jaz Taylor in Telemark have secured two World Cup podiums. It follows on from earlier GB medal success. NEW

The top podium spots for GB Snowsport athletes came in Telemark and Para Alpine races. It’s a great start to the season for Britain’s most successful skier, Jasmin Taylor, and for Neil Simpson with his guide, Rob Poth.

The International Ski & Snowboard Federation, FIS, has rejected a $420m proposal from CVC Capital Partners. Nearly 60 athletes, executives & FIS council members have urged a re-think.

This winter is the final season before the 2026 Winter Olympics. We have some realistic medal hopes and PlanetSKI is following closely the progress of the GB Snowsport athletes ahead of Milan-Cortina.

The Austrian legend who is now back and racing for the Netherlands tore his ACL in training. He says he may not race again. An ACL injury is one of the most common amoung recreational skiers and we look at what it is. UPDATED

The snowboarder takes top spot in the FIS World Cup Snowboard Big Air. It cements a good start to the season as she looks ahead to the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics in 2026.

GB Snowsport has launched the GBS Alpine Foundation, a new initiative to support young British ski talent in the build up to the 2026 Milan-Cortina Olympics and beyond.

The inaugural FIS Freeride World Championships is set to take place in Andorra in February 2026. It is the next step on Freeride becoming an Olympic sport.

The US skier was competing in the slalom at Gurgl in Austria and came away with another emphatic victory. PlanetSKI was slopeside.

GB’s greatest alpine ski racer is competing for the first time this season at the opening slalom race in Levi, Finland. He was 5th after the first run but had a disappointing second run and came 16th. UPDATED

Three-time Olympic skiing medalist Lindsey Vonn is returning to the sport more than five years after she retired. She is 40 years old. UPDATED

The safety measure by the International Ski and Snowboard Federation will come into effect for both categories in the coming 2024/25 season.

The visual identity that will be at the venues is inspired by the new “Italian Spirit” drawing from Italy’s culture and values.
